Joe Blitzstein, Professor of the Practice in Statistics, hit a new landmark this month with his Stat 110 course, Introduction to Probability, which is based on his book with Jessica Hwang. The enrollment for the class was 590, which is the first time a Statistics Department class with a calculus prerequisite has ever been larger than 500 in its history. Growing from last year’s 485 students, Joe’s course is the third largest at Harvard, just behind Ec10 (633 this year, 651 last year) and CS50 (697 this year, 692 last year).
