King Abdulaziz University MPH Program: 2017 Year-End Update

The King Abdulaziz University MPH in Biostatistics and Epidemiology Program, initiated by Jim Ware and Bahaa Abalkhail, has successfully continued under the guidance and leadership of Faculty Director Marcello Pagano and the administrative management of Megan Scott.

The program began in September 2013 with an initial class of 9 students, and has grown over the years with the assistance and expertise of many faculty from various departments at HSPH. Through three cohorts, a total of 31 students have taken part of the collaborative program. Twelve of these students, 6 males and 6 females, are currently in the third semester of the two-year program. One of our department’s professors, David Wypij, is currently teaching Regression Analysis to these students.

Informed by the rapid growth in online training and HarvardX, the KAU Program has been pursuing an innovative approach to education, based upon significant use of recorded lectures and online teaching by videoconference.
