Women in Data Science Cambridge Conference – Seeking Posters

Women in Data ScienceThe Women in Data Science (WiDS) Cambridge conference will take place Thursday, March 11, 2021 on Zoom and registration will be open next week.  The conference organizers are seeking posters from students and researchers for a poster session.

For the fifth year, Harvard, MIT, the Broad Institute and Microsoft Research New England are proud to collaborate with Stanford University to bring the Women in Data Science (WiDS) conference to Cambridge, Massachusetts. This one-day virtual conference will feature an all-female line up of speakers and panelists from academia and industry to talk about the latest data science-related research in a number of domains, to learn how leading-edge companies are leveraging data science for success, and to virtually connect with potential mentors, collaborators, and others in the field. Please see the agenda on the WiDS Cambridge website for more details.

Poster submissions
Posters on topics in data science are sought from a wide range of fields and approaches. Participation in the poster session will allow you to share your research and get feedback from researchers and practitioners from around the area. Your poster title and abstract will be featured on the WiDS Cambridge website and in the Whova app. Out of all submissions, 50 poster presenters will be selected for presentation in gather.town on the day of the event. Out of these 50 poster presenters, 10 will be selected to record a lightning talk that will be shown during the conference program.

Timeline
•  Poster submission deadline: Wednesday, February 3, 2021 (11:59pm EST) application and abstracts due (200-word max)
•  Notification of poster and lightning talk selection will happen on Wednesday, February 10, 2021
•  Selected posters and lightning talks will be due on Friday, February 26, 2021 (11:59pm EST)
•  Poster Session will take place at the conference (Thursday, March 11) from 12:00-1:00pm EST
