NESS 2022: STATISTICS, THE HEART OF DATA SCIENCE

Conference Dates: May 22 – 25, 2022

The Department of Statistics of the University of Connecticut (UConn) will host the 35th New England Statistics Symposium on May 22 – 25, 2022. As an annual event, the symposium has been bringing together statisticians from all over New England and beyond to a central location to share research, discuss emerging issues in the field, and network with colleagues since it was first started at UConn in 1987. The symposium will be hybrid, with in-person sessions held at Storrs (UConn campus) and all sessions broadcast live via Whova.

Short courses will be offered on May 22 and May 23, and the main conference program will be on May 24 and 25. We will, as usual, have keynote sessions, invited sessions, and a poster session. Students are encouraged to participate in the research and poster competitions and a Statathon data challenging. In addition to the keynote talks, a banquet talk will be given by a prominent statistician/data scientist and a Chernoff Lecture to be delivered by the recipient of the Chernoff Excellence in Statistics Award.
