The 18th Annual PQG Conference: ‘AI in Genomics’ brought together approximately 150 faculty, researchers, students, and industry professionals at the Joseph Martin Conference Center last Thursday and Friday to discuss advances in AI tools and applications in genomics, translational medicine and health. In addition to talks from invited speakers, the conference featured a panel moderated by Marinka Zitnik of HMS, that featured Marzyeh Ghassemi of MIT , Hoda Heidari of Carnegie Mellon University, and Bo Wang, from the University of Toronto (pictured above). Together, they delved into emerging topics in biomedical AI and its broader societal impacts.
Pictured left are participants of the conference poster session including Erin Lake, Co-Director, Master of Science in Biostatistics Program and Director of Student Development, along with SM BIO students Rebecca Hurwitz (’24), Karina Bellavia (both poster presenters), and Ruth Johnson, Berkowitz Family Living Laboratory Postdoctoral Research Fellow at HMS (Platform Speaker).
Thank you to organizing committee chairs Marinka Zitnik, James Zou of Stanford, and committee members Elham Azizi of Columbia University, the Biostatistics Department’s own Xihong Lin, Jian Ma of Carnegie Mellon University, Kyle Vogan of Nature Genetics, Bo Wang of the University of Toronto for an excellent conference! We look forward to seeing everyone at next year’s event focused on “Unleashing the Power of Multi-Modal Genomics and Health Data”.
