“Precision Oncology: Advancing Drug Discovery with Genomic Data”

ABSTRACT: Continuing advances in genomics and bioinformatics are transforming drug discovery. At Sanofi Precision Oncology, we use genomics and bioinformatics to identify new targets, understand drug mechanism of action, select indications, identify biomarkers, and assess drug response. In this talk I will present recent examples of using genomic data to measure and understand drug response in patients using recent work on amcenestrant in ER+ breast cancer and anti-TGFß in immuno-oncology. These examples illustrate how we use genomics and bioinformatics to bridge between preclinical and preclinical research. I will also describe exciting collaborations with the Immucan consortium to investigate mechanisms of response and resistance to approved therapies and with the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center to investigate mechanisms of Sanofi investigational therapies.
