Godfred Boateng

Dr. Boateng is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Nutrition, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. His research is at the intersection of food, water, and energy insecurity, with a specific focus on understanding the causal pathways that lead to resource scarcity and examining its consequences among vulnerable populations in developing countries. He aims to identify the proximal, distal, and contextual factors that shape resource scarcity and influence health disparities. He is working on a series of research projects focused on the diet of Malagasy people in the context of ecosystem change. Godfred is a quantitative sociologist and an epidemiologist, an expert in the design and application of culturally-relevant scalable methodologies to understand global health challenges in the ​area of resource scarcity and non-communicable diseases in developing countries and among vulnerable populations.
