To the Harvard Chan community,
I’m thrilled to announce our first selection for The Big Read, the new community book club at Harvard Chan School.
With 198 votes tallied, the overwhelming choice was Phantom Plague: How Tuberculosis Shaped History, an urgent and riveting narrative spanning centuries and continents to trace the impact of TB. You can pick up a free copy in the Office for Student Services in Kresge G4.
Everyone in the community is invited to read “Phantom Plague” over the coming months. The School will host online and in-person discussion circles in February—and the book’s author, acclaimed Indian journalist Vidya Krishnan, will join us on campus for several events.
“Phantom Plague” covers many issues critical to public health, and I’m looking forward to discussing them with all of you.
Happy reading!
