Solidarity-oriented approaches: subverting the status quo of global health
Kresge G1 – 4:05 to 5:45 PM
“Global Health” in many ways encompasses a site of contestation between economic, social and epistemological forces. Hegemonies of neoliberalism, intellectual property, and biomedical frameworks have been continually challenged by global grassroots and solidarity based actions, which are often de-centered in mainstream histories. This panel aims to explore current efforts to challenge mainstream global health doctrines and structures of exploitation.
