Lunch n’ Learn Program for Staff of Color and Allies

Lunch ‘n’ Learn is a series of workshops for Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health staff of color and allies. Participants meet once a month and engage in a themed session facilitated by members of the community and external guests.

Mission Statement

The Lunch ‘n’ Learn Program consists of a group of Harvard Longwood staff of color and allies committed to the School’s goals of developing an open and inclusive environment. The primary goals of this group are to develop community; promote creativity, innovation, and learning; and foster personal and professional growth.

This year’s theme is Professional Development and Advancement. The ongoing pandemic has encouraged many staff members, both new and seasoned professionals, to consider what career development and advancement might look like for them. This year, Lunch ‘n’ Learn will focus on conversations related to developing your professional life. We will consider topics such as salary negotiation, team dynamics and management, supervision, and transitioning into new fields. These conversations will center professional development within a social identity framework by considering the impact of race and its intersections.
