Evelin is an SM-80 student in the Department of Global Health & Population concentrating in Infectious Disease Epidemiology. She was born in Mexico City and immigrated to Danbury, CT at a young age. Evelin graduated summa cum laude from Western Connecticut State University with a degree in Biology and Community Health. Before graduate school, she worked on an NIH-funded obesity intervention targeting low-income preschool-aged children and families in the Greater Boston area. She is interested in understanding and addressing the upstream determinants of health disparities among Latinx immigrant/undocumented communities and other marginalized groups.
