Mr. Martel is a board certified health physicist, and has been working in the field of radiation protection for over 25 years. Mr. Martel has applied health physics and radiation safety management experience in medical, biotechnology, nuclear power, environmental, emergency response, and radioactive source manufacturing industries. Mr. Martel serves as a technical advisor to the Council for Radiation Control Program Directors, and is currently the President-elect of the Medical Health Physics section of the National Health Physics Society.

Mr. Martel was the Director and Radiation Safety Officer for two major Academic Medical Institutions in the Boston area where his research efforts included improving radiation dose management for radioisotope therapies and x-ray diagnostic imaging.

At Unfors RaySafe, Mr. Martel is developing and implementing commercial solutions for the management of patient and staff dose working with major x-ray equipment manufacturers and academic medical institutions around the world. Mr. Martel is a frequent invited lecturer on patient radiation dose management strategies.
