Deborah McLellan, Senior Scientist, works with the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health Center for Work, Health, and Well-being in developing, implementing, evaluating, and disseminating innovative interventions to improve worker health. For over 15 years she has managed and led multi-disciplinary research teams testing worksite interventions using integrated approaches to health, safety, and well-being in multiple worksite settings and sectors including manufacturing and health care. Her expertise is in organizational and policy approaches to worker health and safety, and in creating, testing, and disseminating practical research interventions and tools using integrated approaches to safety and health for worksite settings. She was lead author of the recently developed Implementing an Integrated Approach creating a process and tools for integrating health, safety, and well-being at worksites, and was Principal Investigator of a study designed to disseminate guidelines by adapting them for delivery by a worksite health promotion vendor to small to medium-sized businesses.
Previously, Deborah was the Associate Director of the Center for Community Based Research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute overseeing cancer prevention research and education projects in multi-ethnic working class populations. Before moving to Boston, Dr. McLellan was in Washington, DC where she was a health policy analyst focusing on tobacco control issues for the American Public Health Association (APHA).
Deborah McLellan received her M.H.S. from the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health and her Ph.D. in Social Policy at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University.
