As the senior vice president, John Glaser Ph.D. is focused on developing Cener's strategic direction and operating plans, fostering relationships with Cener clients and advancing Cerner's population health solutions and services.

John joined Cerner in 2015 as a part of the Siemens Heath Services acquisition, where he was chief executive officer. Prior to Siemens, John was vice president and chief information officer at Partners HealthCare; he also previously served as vice president of information systems at Brigham and Women's Hospital.

John was the founding chair of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) and the past-president of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). He is a former senior advisor to the Office of the National Coordinator for
Health Information Technology (ONC). He is the former Chair of the Global Agenda Council on Digital Health, World Economic Forum.

John is currently a member of the boards of InTouch Health, Press Ganey, PatientPing and the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).

John has received numerous industry awards including the John P. Glaser Innovation Award (established by the School of Biomedical Informatics, The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston), William B. Stead Thought Leadership Award (American Medical Informatics Association) and the Lifetime Achievement Award (CHIME).

John received his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. He has written over 200 articles and three books on the strategic application of I.T. in health care. John is on the faculty    of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, the School of Biomedical Informatics at the Texas Health Science Center and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
