Richard Wilson is Mallinckrodt Professor of Physics (emeritus) at Harvard University. He helped start the Energy and Environmental Policy Center in 1973 and served as its Director from 1975 to 1978. For the last 30 years he has been involved with environmental concerns, especially with various environmental risks about which he has written many articles. He was awarded the Forum Award of the American Physical Society in 1990 for communications with the public (on physics and applications, and especially on risk) and the Distinguished Achievement Award of the Society for Risk Analysis in 1993.
