Sally Mason Boemer

Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President for Administration and Finance
Massachusetts General Hospital

Sally Mason Boemer currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the Massachusetts General Hospital and Mass General Physicians Organization as well as Executive Vice President for Administration and Finance for the hospital.  In her administrative role, Sally ensures effective operations for a broad range of hospital departments and functions ranging from pharmacy and biomedical engineering to cleaning, food service, and security. She oversees real estate and facilities, including a recently approved two million square foot construction project for a new clinical facility. She is a member of the financial leadership team of the Mass General Brigham System, the parent corporation of the hospital, where she plays a role in establishing fiscal policies and the strategic framework for capital, operating, and investment decisions.

Sally has worked for both the MGH and Mass General Brigham for thirty years in various finance and hospital management roles. From 2009 to 2016 Sally was the Chief Financial Officer at MGH as well as the North Shore Medical Center adding a disproportionate share, community hospital to her financial portfolio. Her management and operational responsibilities evolved by taking on leadership opportunities with clinical service lines such as the MGH Cancer Center and institutional initiatives such as the implementation of the Epic electronic medical record.

She has a BS in Human Services from Cornell University and a Masters in Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan. Upon completion, she came to MGH for the nationally competitive MGH Administrative Fellowship Program.

Sally serves on the Board of several organizations such as Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries and Reading Cooperative Bank. She was the recipient of the Up & Comers award by Modern HealthCare magazine (2002), the Top 52 Women Hospital and HealthCare Leaders by Becker’s Hospital Review (2011), and Boston Business Journal CFO of the Year for Large Non-Profits (2020).

Sally and her husband, Eric, reside in Reading, MA with their two children, William (age 20) and Anna (18).
