Sandra graduated with a B.S. degree in Biology from the City College of New York and an M.S. degree in Environmental Health Sciences with a focus on Molecular Toxicology from New York University. Sandra is currently a doctoral candidate in the department of Environmental Health in the Molecular and Integrative Physiological Sciences program. She joined Philip Demokritou’s laboratory in 2012 where she has received training to characterize engineered nanoparticles and evaluate their toxicity using both in vitro and in vivo models.
