Susan Gullo, RN MS brings extensive health care and implementation experience to her role at Ariadne Labs as the Platform Director of Implementation. In this role she leads an experienced team whose goal is to accelerate the implementation of the solutions Ariadne Labs creates to improve the quality of healthcare people receive at the most critical moments of their lives.
Prior to her role at Ariadne, Ms. Gullo focused on leading and directing organizations across multiple improvement and clinical work streams, including women’s and children’s health. Working at the country level with Senior Leaders in NGO's and Hospital Systems, Ms. Gullo has been the Sr. Director in the field to implement projects, provide translational leadership, and coach and support frontline teams and consumers of healthcare. Her quality improvement career started in 1995 as a member of an IHI Breakthrough Series and since that time she has led many initiatives on improving patient safety both nationally and internationally. Ms. Gullo co-designed and led the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s (IHI) Perinatal from 2004-2014 influencing further development of national collaboratives and was the co-lead for IHI's Maternal and Child Health priority group. She was elected to the 2014 AWHONN Board of Directors and is currently a member of multiple national Maternal-Child Health Advisory Committees. Previously, Ms. Gullo was the Director of Women’s Services at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH. She feels fortunate to have been at the beginning of the patient safety movement and continues this focus as a component of her work at Ariadne Labs.
