Yonatan Grad is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and an attending physician in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He earned his MD and PhD degrees at Harvard Medical School with his doctoral research in bioinformatics and genomics in the lab of George Church, and completed his internal medicine residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital and clinical infectious diseases fellowship in the MGH/BWH combined program. Prior to joining the faculty at Harvard Chan School, he was a research fellow with Marc Lipsitch in the CCDD. Dr. Grad's research investigates how pathogens evolve and spread using a combination of genomics, mathematical modeling, and epidemiological tools, and includes projects looking at within-host viral evolution, genomic epidemiology of outbreaks, and the emergence and spread of antibiotic resistance.
