The gap between the need for mental health services and their availability has always been large; it has become even larger during the recent pandemic. The Harvard Chan School Executive and Continuing Professional Education will help narrow this gap by recruiting, training, and mentoring forward-thinking leaders. The Mental Health Care Leadership Certificate of Specialization is made up of three programs, taught by top Harvard faculty, embracing both empirical evidence and real-world lessons. It’s a training and mentoring program where professionals from around the world can empower themselves to scale up evidence-based and innovative programs to address the mental health needs of their communities.
This certificate is designed for practitioners, policy advisors, health administrators, service planners, business leaders, and civil society organization executives with responsibility for mental health. Participants may hold titles such as Director of Mental Health, Administrator of Mental Health, Mental Health Consultant, Commissioner of Mental Health, Chief Mental Health Officer, and Human Resource Director.
To earn your Mental Health Care Leadership Certificate of Specialization from Harvard Chan School Executive and Continuing Professional Education, you must take Foundations of Mental Health Care and Scaling Up Mental Health Care Services. After completing these programs, there is a 12-month long program—Mental Health Care Peer Learning Collaborative—that will complete the Mental Health Care Leadership Certificate of Specialization program.
