Center for Health and Happiness Seminar Series

March 24th, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 1:50 pm

The Lee Kum Sheung Center for Health and Happiness invites you to “Social Resilience, Hope, and Recognition in the New Gilded Age,” presented by Dr. Michèle Lamont, Professor of Sociology and of African and African American Studies and the Robert I. Goldman Professor of European Studies at Harvard University.

In the context of COVID, growing inequality and political polarization, Dr. Lamont is writing a book that diagnoses some of the current challenges facing Americans and offers a way forward. Her work draws from survey data and interviews with boomers, Gen Zs, and leading “agents of change,” who are producing new narratives in entertainment, comedy, advocacy, religion, art, journalism, impact investing, and other fields of activity.

This seminar is part of the Lee Kum Sheung Center for Health and Happiness seminar series. The event is free and open to the public. This year’s theme is health equity and positive well-being. Please email centerhealthappiness@hsph.harvard.edu with any questions.
