Title: Innovation In Times of Crises: Sheba’s ARC Meets COVID-19

Abstract: With the goal of spearheading the transformation of healthcare, Sheba Medical Center (the largest hospital in Israel) has launched ARC, a global ecosystem that aims to develop, pilot and roll-out game changing solutions. ARC (Accelerate, Redesign, and Collaborate) prioritizes innovations in digital health, allows an open innovation environment and promotes accelerated development and implementation through sharing of data and streamlining collaborations. When faced with the COVID-19 pandemic, ARC mobilized into action in what became an innovation “perfect storm.”

Eyal Zimlichman MD, MSc is currently Chief Medical Officer and Chief Innovation Officer at Sheba Medical Center, Israel’s largest hospital. Prior to this he held the position of Lead Researcher at Partners Healthcare Clinical Affairs Department in Boston. Dr. Zimlichman is the founder and director of Sheba’s ARC innovation program: an open global innovation ecosystem which aims to redesign healthcare through digital health. Dr. Zimlichman is board certified in internal medicine, is a graduate of the Harvard School of Public Health and has earned his MD at the Technion Israel Institute of Technology.
