Dr. Robert Paarlberg – Resetting the Table: How Not to Fix Our Broken Food System

Many proposed remedies for America’s poor dietary health revolve around increasing access to nutritious foods, by redirecting farm subsidies to fruits and vegetables, and by building more supermarkets in “food deserts.” But since the 1960s nutritious foods have become more abundant in the marketplace than ever before, and obesity rates still tripled. Our problem is too many unhealthy foods in the marketplace, including in supermarkets. Draining these food swamps is the problem.
