Guns and Public Health

April 7th, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

A lecture by David Hemenway, a professor of health policy at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and director of the Harvard Injury Control Research Center and Harvard Youth Violence Prevention Center. He teaches classes on injury and on economics and has written widely in the fields of economics and public health.

In this virtual event, Hemenway will discuss his research to find common ground between gunners and such groups as governors, faith leaders, and advocates to effectively address firearm injuries. He is also beginning his work on a book that summarizes what is currently known about firearms and public health and the programs and policies that seem to work to reduce gun violence.
