NGH Program Monthly Seminar – Fortified balanced energy and protein (BEP++) supplementation for enhancing pregnancy and birth outcomes – an unfinished agenda

The Nutrition and Global Health Program is holding its next monthly seminar on Monday, December 4th from 1:00-2:00 pm EST over Zoom (virtual only).

We are delighted to host Dr. Parul Christian, DrPH, MSc, Professor in the Department of International Health and Director of the Center for Human Nutrition (CHN) at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health for her talk “Fortified balanced energy and protein (BEP++) supplementation for enhancing pregnancy and birth outcomes – an unfinished agenda.”

Dr. Christian will describe the evidence leading to the WHO recommendation of BEP supplementation as an ANC intervention in undernourished contexts, the development of guidance for the composition of such a supplement and ongoing trials including targeting approaches for implementing this intervention to enhance pregnancy health and reduce adverse birth outcomes.
