Red Cross Blood Drive

December 10th @ 8:30 am - 1:30 pm

Red Cross blood drive hosted by HMS Departments of Genetics, Immunology, and Microbiology. Eligibility information available at https://www.redcross.org.

Why we donate: The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds and most of us will need blood in our lifetime.

Good to know: On August 7th, the American Red Cross implemented the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s new blood donation eligibility guidance regarding an individual donor assessment for all donors regardless of gender or sexual orientation. More information is available at the Red Cross’s Eligibility FAQs page and LGBTQ+ Donors page.
