Winter Term Two Part Mini-Series: Health Data – Accessibility and Visualization

This virtual only (ZOOM) winter term offering is available to faculty, staff, and students throughout HSPH and beyond. Part I: Health Data Accessibility (Jan 7) will feature Jamie Spear, Digital Accessibility Consultant from HUIT’s Digital Accessibility Services. After attend this one hour session you will be able to create Powerpoint (TM) slides that can be read by assistive technology.  Assistive technology includes screen readers which are used by persons with vision impairment. This two-part mini series is jointly sponsored by the Harvard Chan NIEHS Center for Environmental Health and the Harvard Chan Education and Research Center; Part I will help us be more mindful and inclusive of those with vision impairments. Part II: Health Data Visualization (Jan 14) will feature Katherine Rowell, of HealthDataViz, LLC of Boston. In this two-hour session, Ms Rowell will use case studies from our faculty and students to elucidate best practices for visualizing health data and will ground her presentation of these practices  in the science around vision and cognition.
