Dr. Fang-Ching Sun Memorial Award

The Award Committee for the Dr. Fang-Ching Sun Memorial Award invites you to nominate students for this award.

The award is in memory of Dr. Fang-Ching Sun, MPH ’84, who had a brief but exemplary career improving the health and well-being of underserved populations in the rural mountains of his native Taiwan. The award is funded by Dr. Sun’s family, friends and classmates at HSPH and Chung-Shan Medical School in Taiwan. The award, monetary and a certificate, will honor an outstanding student who is graduating in 2020-21 and has demonstrated a commitment to promoting the health of vulnerable people.

Nominations should include the following information:

  • A brief statement of why you are nominating the student and how the student has demonstrated a commitment to promoting the health of vulnerable people
  • A copy of the student’s resume
  • Any other information that you think would be helpful to the committee

Award Details:

Who is eligible to receive the Dr. Fang-Ching Sun Memorial Award?
Any student graduating in November 2020, March 2021, or May 2021 is eligible.

Who may submit a nomination?
Students may be nominated for the award by faculty members, staff, or other students. Self-nominations are not accepted.

When is the deadline for nominations?
5 pm on Friday, April 23, 2021
