Dr Fang-Ching Sun Memorial Award

The Award Committee for the Dr. Fang-Ching Sun Memorial Award invites you to nominate students for this award.

The award is in memory of Dr. Fang-Ching Sun, MPH ’84, who had a brief but exemplary career improving the health and wellbeing of underserved populations in the rural mountains of his native Taiwan. The award is funded by Dr. Sun’s family, friends and classmates at HSPH and Chung-Shan Medical School in Taiwan. The award, monetary and a plaque, will honor an outstanding student who is graduating in 2019-20 and has demonstrated a commitment to promoting the health of vulnerable people.

Nominations should include the following information:

  • A brief statement of why you are nominating the student and how the student has demonstrated a commitment to promoting the health of vulnerable people
  • A copy of the student’s resume
  • Any other information that you think would be helpful to the committee

Award Details:

Who is eligible to receive the Dr. Fang-Ching Sun Memorial Award?
Any student graduating in November 2019, March 2020, or May 2020 is eligible.

Who may submit a nomination?
Students may be nominated for the award by faculty members, staff, or other students. Self-nominations are not accepted.

When is the deadline for nominations?
5 pm on Friday, May 1, 2020
