Michelle Korte

With HaSET, Michelle investigated the barriers and enablers of institutional births in Ethiopia to generate recommendations for enabling safe, respectful institutional births, and explored qualitative data to understand the perspectives of mothers, communities, and health workers toward Kangaroo Mother Care implementation models. Prior to Harvard, she spent three years conducting field research in Uganda and Myanmar with Innovations for Poverty Action. Her portfolio included evaluating a community health worker program’s national scale-up, an MCH-focused health intervention, a community-based dispute resolution training, and people’s understanding and expectations of Myanmar’s national peace process. Michelle’s professional experience also includes a Global Health Corps fellowship focused on policy and advocacy with IntraHealth International. Michelle graduated with distinction in Global Affairs and International Development from Yale University in 2015.
