Dr. David Silbersweig is the Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry and the Co-Director of the Center for Neurosciences at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and serves as Dean for Academic Programs at Partners HealthCare and Stanley Cobb Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. A pioneer of functional neuroimaging research in psychiatry, Dr. Silbersweig’s work focuses on the development and application of new neuroimaging techniques to localize and characterize brain circuitry dysfunction underlying major psychiatric disorders. His talk focused on his work on neurobiological mechanisms of mindfulness and resilience, as well as how brain science can help inform our understanding of positive well-being.
