Building an Evidence Base that is Useful for Population Health

Karen Emmons is Professor of Social and Behavioral Science at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Professor Emmons is a behavioral scientist with a strong track record of funded research in community-based approaches to cancer prevention in a variety of settings that serve disadvantaged populations, including low income housing and community health centers. She also has expertise in implementation science, and has been actively involved in national training efforts in this area. She is the faculty lead of the Harvard CTSA’s community engagement program, which focuses on accelerating evidence-based practice and policy to advance community health.

Professor Emmons’ talk considered how evidence from this research may be translated to inform practice and policies promoting positive health.
