Seminar Series: Dr. Andrew Steptoe

Dr. Andrew Steptoe is Head of the Department of Behavioural Science and Health at University College London (UCL), and Director of the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing. He was appointed British Heart Foundation professor of psychology at UCL from 2000-2016, and also served as Head of the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health and Director of the Institute of Epidemiology and Health Care from 2011-2017. He is a former president of the International Society of Behavioral Medicine and is a fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences, the British Psychological Society, Academia Europaea, and the Academy of Social Sciences. His research interests include psychosocial aspects of aging, links between mental and physical health, childhood obesity, health behaviour change, and the psychobiology of stress.
