Dr. Ichiro Kawachi is the John L. Loeb and Frances Lehman Loeb Professor of Social Epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. His research interests include the social determinants of health and health disparities; the link between social capital and health; disaster resilience and age-relevant health outcomes; neighborhood influences on health; and the psychosocial work environment.
Dr. Kawachi earned both his MBChB and PhD (Epidemiology) from the University of Otago, New Zealand.
