Karmel Choi, PhD

Dr. Karmel Choi is a research advisor on resilience at the Lee Kum Sheung Center for Health and Happiness. She is a clinical psychologist and faculty member in the Center for Precision Psychiatry and the Psychiatric & Neurodevelopmental Genetics Unit at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). Her research focuses on the interplay of genetic and environmental factors that influence trauma and resilience across the life course, leveraging methods from statistical genetics, data science, and developmental epidemiology. Dr. Choi completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology at Duke University and her predoctoral clinical internship in Behavioral Medicine at MGH.
