With a background in chemical engineering, Dr. Yanagisawa’s research interest is the atmospheric environment, under both natural and occupational settings. Dr. Yanagisawa was a faculty member at the EH department at Harvard Chan School from 1986 to 2002, and became the professor of environmental process engineering at the University of Tokyo since 1999. He has published extensively on chemical sensitivity and sick building syndrome, especially in the Japanese populations.
