Research

Dr. Zeng’s research interests are in the area of cancer epidemiology. She is especially interested in:  1) Population-based cancer registration and survival research; 2) Screening research on gastrointestinal cancers; 3) Modifiable prognostic factors of gastrointestinal cancers. She is a core member of Chinese National Cancer Registration and Follow-up Program, as well as two multi-center screening cohorts on upper-gastrointestinal cancers and liver cancer in China. She is the principle investigator for many Chinese national scientific research programs funded by National R&D Programs and National Natural Science Funds.

Dr. Zeng has published more than 100 articles in cancer epidemiological area, which have been cited for more than 15 000 times by researchers and the mass media. And she had three  first-author publications ranking as ESI top 1% highly cited work in the research field worldwide. Studies conducted by her research team provide a benchmark for a series of Chinese health plans such as “Healthy China 2030 Blueprint”. Especially, her recent publication on the Lancet Global Health “Changing cancer survival in China during 2003-15: a pooled analysis of 17 population-based cancer registries” provides the most comprehensive and up-to-date assessment of cancer survival in China overtime.
