Phuong Pham, PhD, MPH, Faculty Director of the Concentration on Humanitarian Studies; Assistant Professor, Harvard Medical School and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health; Director, Evaluation and Implementation Science Program, Harvard Humanitarian Initiative

Dr. Pham has over 15 years of experience in designing and implementing epidemiologic and evaluation research, technology solutions, and educational programs in on-going and post-conflict countries such as northern Uganda, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Central African Republic, Iraq, Cambodia, Colombia and other areas affected by mass violence and humanitarian crisis.

VanRooyen has worked extensively in humanitarian assistance in more than 30 countries affected by war and disaster, including Somalia, Bosnia, Rwanda, Iraq, North Korea, Darfur-Chad and the Democratic Republic of Congo, both as a physician and a policy advisor with numerous relief organizations. His textbook, Emergency Field Medicine, is considered one of the key reference texts in this area.
