Server and Network Maintenance

To the Harvard Chan School community:

On Thursday, August 22nd, we will perform our regular monthly system maintenance to all servers and network equipment.

The maintenance window will last from 7PM to 1AM.  On Friday morning we recommend rebooting your computer. This will refresh your network connection and apply any updates.

The Student/ICF Virtual Desktops (VDI) will also be upgraded to Windows 10 during this window. Please visit the IT website for more information.

The following services will be affected during the dates and times above: 

– Wireless Networks (Harvard University, Harvard Secure, and Eduroam)
– File and Print services
– ICF File services
– ICF Print services
– Mailman listservs
– Scan-to-email functionality for network copiers
– Local SMTP email services
– FILR (formerly NetStorage)
– Powerfaids and NetPartner
– Kiteworks by Accellion File Transfer service
– Wasabi
– Labpoint
– CCure and Passage Point
– Administrative forms (account requests, visitor pass requests, computer setup, etc.)
– ICF VDI/Virtual Desktop System
– Staff VDI/Virtual Desktop System
– Kiosk VDI/Virtual Desktop System
– Web Server (main www.hsph.harvard.edu site)
– The Forum Web Site

All other services will be unaffected during the maintenance window, including the following:  
– HUIT O365 (Outlook) email system
– my.harvard
