Kiteworks by Accellion moving to Harvard University

To the Harvard Chan School community,

The Department of Information Technology is pleased to announce that starting Monday, November 11th, we will transition our “Kiteworks by Accellion” file transfer service to the improved central Harvard University Kiteworks service.

Beginning Monday, please use the new web address of

https://filetransfer.harvard.edu

We recommend that you update your bookmarks. You have already been provisioned with an account on the new system. The old system will be retired on November 14th.

The Kiteworks service provides a secure file transfer solution for protecting data in transit and at rest. The service uses industry-standard encryption to secure files sent or received by Kiteworks users.

The Harvard University system provides improved features, including:
• Larger file sizes
• No need to request accounts for faculty, staff, or students
• Guest accounts for collaborators outside the university
• Continued use of Harvard Key for login
• One website for secure communications across the university
• Mobile app support

If you are using the Kiteworks by Accellion plugin for Microsoft Outlook, the IT department will be in contact to help you connect to the new system.

For detailed information on feature changes, please see the comparison chart here.
