Server and Network Maintenance, 2/13/20, 7pm

Update, 2/14/2020, 1:00 AM:
All systems have been updated and are fully functional.

To the Harvard Chan School community:

On Thursday, February 13th, IT will perform regular monthly system maintenance to all servers and network equipment.

The maintenance window will last from 7PM to 1AM. Please reboot your computer afterwards to apply updates.

Microsoft support for Windows 7 has ended. If your computer is still running Windows 7, please contact the IT helpdesk immediately to schedule your upgrade.

All Harvard Chan WordPress websites are moving to new servers. The migration will start on 2/13 at 6 pm and will be completed on 2/14 by 12 pm (noon). The WordPress administration will be unavailable during the entire time. Public facing websites may have a short outage during the move to new servers.

File server security patch to be deployed. Click here for further information if you manage your own Windows-based server for file storage. If you have any problems connecting to a file server, please contact the helpdesk.

The following services will be affected during the dates and times above:

– File and Print services
– Mailman listservs
– Scan-to-email functionality for network copiers
– Local SMTP email services
– FILR (web-base access to network drives)
– Powerfaids and NetPartner
– Wasabi
– CCure and Passage Point
– ICF VDI/Virtual Desktop System
– Staff VDI/Virtual Desktop System
– Kiosk VDI/Virtual Desktop System
– The Forum Web Site
– Web Server (main www.hsph.harvard.edu site)

All other services will be unaffected during the maintenance window, including the following:
– Administrative forms (account requests, visitor pass requests, computer setup, etc.)
– HUIT O365 (Outlook) email system
– Kiteworks by Accellion File Transfer service
– my.harvard
