Network maintenance: Building 2, Floors 3 & 4, 5/26-5/27

Before research starts to ramp up at HSPH, IT will be rebuilding a network closet in Building 2 that feeds the network jacks on Floors 3 & 4.  Network jacks on those floors will be offline starting Tuesday (5/26) morning and extending through Wednesday afternoon (5/27).

This maintenance will affect remote users who are using VPN to remote control their in-office PCs.   Users who need workarounds should contact Field Support at HelpDesk@hsph.harvard.edu.

  • In-office PCs are expected to reconnect after maintenance, and are not expected to need to be rebooted.
  • VPN will still work, but in-office PCs will be unreachable.

We apologize for the short notice, but this is a rare opportunity to do this work while the building is still empty.

Please contact Field Support if you have any other concerns with equipment or computing in Building 2, Floors 3 & 4.

Please contact our IT Helpdesk at (617) 432-4357 or email helpdesk@hsph.harvard.edu for any questions or concerns you may have regarding this information.
