Nate Varney is a Senior Systems Administrator in the the Department of Information Technology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. He received a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of South Florida and first joined the school in 2009 as a User Services Specialist.
As a server administrator, Nate is responsible for the deployment, maintenance, upgrade, and occasional repair of the SPH IT infrastructure. He enjoys collaborative problem solving, process automation, and rock climbing.
Nate has worked on a number of major initiatives since he started at the school including the instillation of IT/AV infrastructure at Smith Street and Landmark, laptop encryption, Windows 10 deployment, Virtual Desktops, and Office 365.
