Post-Doctoral Research Fellow In Prostate Cancer Epidemiology at Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health

We are seeking an outstanding post-doctoral research fellow to join our cancer epidemiology research team in the Department of Epidemiology at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health, Boston Massachusetts. The research fellow will be an integral member of our team and lead innovative projects on prostate cancer. The focus of the research is diverse, including molecular epidemiology, etiologic research, and cancer survivorship within cohorts of men in the Unites States and globally. Our team is dedicated to understanding the causes of prostate cancer and cancer survivorship, with the ultimate goal of improving men’s health.

Training: The fellow’s research program and training will be primarily directed by Dr. Lorelei Mucci, Professor of Epidemiology at the Harvard Chan School of Public Health and Leader of Cancer Epidemiology at the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center. They will be an integral member of a team of 20 graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and faculty, as well as clinical and research colleagues from across the cancer center. The fellow will have access to large, well-annotated cohorts with biological specimens such as the Health Professionals Follow-up Study (https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/hpfs/) and the IRONMAN registry of men with advanced prostate cancer (https://ironmanregistry.org/).

The fellow will be encouraged to participate in workshops, courses, seminars, and leverage the resources and Harvard’s interdisciplinary environment. They will be supported to lead original analyses and manuscripts, grant writing, and gain experience in the design, analysis and methods in the field of integrative molecular epidemiology. Research and training opportunities will help build and strengthen the fellow’s skill set, while promoting career development in multiple ways, including developing skills in grant writing, gaining and building on national and international collaborations, and fostering the transition toward independent funding and an independent research career. Eligibility: The ideal candidate will hold a doctoral degree in epidemiology or biostatistics, with a demonstrated interest in cancer epidemiology. We will also consider candidates who are trained in medicine or biology who have a background in quantitative research skills and are interest in cancer research. The funding for the position is through a T32 training grant of the National Cancer Institute.
