UB M&E Workshop in Gaborone, Botswana

The week-long Introduction to Quantitative Methods in Monitoring and Evaluation took place from 06-10 August 2018 at the University of Botswana (UB). McGoldrick Fellow Dr. Oleosi Ntshebe (Cohort 1) led the organization effort. It was co-sponsored by

  • The McGoldrick Professional Development Program in Public Health, operating under the aegis of HSPH and ARISE

This workshop had five co-instructors, pictured above. They each taught several sessions over the course of the week, as described in the workshop schedule below.

The schedule for the UB M&E Workshop (August 2018). Practicums were hands-on Stata computing sessions, where participants learned how lecture content was used in data analysis.

Participant Feedback

After completing the week-long workshop, participants anonymously completed an exit survey, rating the course on several metrics as well as providing freeform feedback.

  • 100% said course met their expectations
  • 100% said they would recommend the course for others to take
  • 81% expressed interest in a longer offering of the course
