Health Policy - Decision Sciences

Ye Shen is a Ph.D. candidate in the Decision Sciences track of the Health Policy program at Harvard University. She is interested in using disease simulation modeling, decision analytic, and policy evaluation methods to better inform health policy topics intersecting the social safety net for underserved and vulnerable populations. She is currently applying these methods to simulate insurance, utilization, and oral disease dynamics and to evaluate policies that address oral health disparities in the United States such as medical-dental integration and dental workforce in shortage areas. She is also developing a microsimulation to model the dynamics of disordered weight control behaviors and eating disorders for estimating nationally representative trends and evaluating relevant prevention strategies in Canada.
