Short Bio
Jerome Tjiptadi is a third-year undergraduate student at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore, in the field of Materials Engineering, specializing in medical materials, nanoscience and nanotechnology. His research interest is related to biomaterials, drug delivery, and nanomaterials. He has previously worked on projects about complex coacervation of polysaccharides and nanoencapsulation for transdermal drug delivery.
Jerome joined Dr. Philip Demokritou’s group in January 2020 as a visiting student under the NTU-HSPH Sustainable Nanotechnology initiative program, to study and develop nature-derived biopolymers as nanocarrier platforms for efficient, targeted, and precise agrichemical delivery. The focus for this project is on the development of electrospinning/electrospray platforms for green and scalable synthesis of nature derived nanoparticles/nanofibers to be used for smart/responsive delivery of agrichemicals.
Research Interests
- Smart delivery of agrichemicals
- Nanoparticles for transdermal drug deliver
