October 22, 2018 – Scientists, educators, and students joined together for a day of learning and discovery on October 19 at the 21st annual John B. Little Symposium, hosted by Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health’s John B. Little Center for Radiation Sciences. A slate of speakers from Harvard Chan School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Brown University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the Novartis Institute for Biomedical Research enthusiastically embraced this year’s theme, “Stress and Homeostasis in Aging,” and explored a wide variety of topics, from how positive health assets may reduce chronic diseases of aging to whether cell size impacts cell physiology. “Each year our goal is to bring together researchers from multiple discipline to answer fundamental questions related to public health,” Harvard Chan School Dean Michelle Williams said during her opening remarks. “I envy you all that you get the chance to sit, listen, and enjoy the important science that will be shared today.”

Fred Little, son of John Little, delivers remarks.
