Michael Reich receives award for research on health policy and systems

Michael-Reich-headshotMichael Reich, Taro Takemi Professor of International Health Policy, has received an award for Lifetime Service in the field of Health Policy and Systems Research from the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research (AHPSE) and Health Systems Global (HSG). The award was announced on November 17, 2016 at the Fourth Global Symposium on Health Systems Research in Vancouver, Canada.

Reich’s research has focused on health system strengthening and reform, access to medicines and pharmaceutical policy, and the political economy of policy-making processes. He was recognized for playing a key role in shaping the field of health policy and systems research over more than four decades, and for his influential role in mentoring younger scientists in the field.
