Walter Willett named ‘American Food Hero’

Walter Willett, professor of epidemiology and nutrition at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, was one of 10 individuals honored as a 2018 “American Food Hero” by EatingWell.

The awards recognize visionary leaders and influencers who are working on some of today’s most pressing food, sustainability and nutrition issues. Willett, who has published more than 1,700 original research papers and reviews over the course of his career, was among the first researchers to find a link between artificial trans fats and cholesterol and heart disease.

The award winners will be featured in the July/August 2018 issue of EatingWell.
