Why Public Health? Gabriel Seidman

January 2016 – In our series “Why Public Health?” we ask Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health students and alumni to talk about what drew them to the field. Gabriel Seidman, DrPH ’17, was struck as an undergrad by the ways that social, economic, and political factors can influence people’s access to health care. After working with pharmaceutical companies and global health organizations, he was drawn to Harvard Chan School to study health systems and financing. Here, he’s gaining the technical skills to do public health research, as well as the leadership skills he’ll need to one day lead an organization.
